Overview

Why invest in our Junior Gold miners ETF

  • Junior Gold Miners

Targets small- and mid-cap gold and silver miners with strong growth potential worldwide. Junior miners are highly volatile, less liquid and carry significant operational risk.

  • Sensitivity to Gold Prices

Miners' earnings are geared to the gold price, so their shares tend to move with gold but often by more in either direction. This can amplify both gains and losses.

  • Focused Gold Mining Exposure

Focuses on companies whose core business is gold mining, giving targeted exposure to the sector. Concentration in one sector raises commodity-price and operational risk.

Fund Description

The VanEck Junior Gold Miners UCITS ETF provides exposure to smaller-sized gold/silver mining companies, including firms in earlier stages of development, which may offer higher growth potential but also come with increased risk and volatility.

  • In certain market conditions, such junior gold miners may attract interest from larger gold producers. However, acquisition activity is uncertain and should not be considered a core investment premise.
  • This segment of the market may provide complementary exposure to investors already holding positions in physical gold or large-cap gold mining stocks.
  • Launched in March 2015, this was the first UCITS ETF in Europe to focus exclusively on junior gold mining companies.
