The Index Composition:
The MarketVector™ Global Defense Industry Index tracks the performance of companies that are involved in serving national defense industries.
Companies initially eligible for inclusion in Index:
- Companies involved in the defense industry, including related national/federal governmental departments. This includes companies deriving at least 50% (25% for current components) of their revenues from the following themes:

- Aerospace and Defense products and services.
- Communications systems and services, including satellites.
- Unmanned vehicles.
- Event response, security, or safety-related software.
- Information Technology hardware and services.
- Cybersecurity software.
- Training and simulation software and products.
- Digital forensics, detection devices, and e-authentication/biometric identification
- Market cap exceeding $1 billion
- Three-month average daily turnover greater than $1 million
- Minimum trading volume of 250,000 shares each month over last 6 months
- Individual company weights are capped at 8%
- Excludes companies that very severely violate UN Global Compact Principles
- Controversial Weapons screen
